1. What services do you offer?
Selenite Counseling Services provides individual and family therapy for adults, teens, and older children. Areas of focus include anxiety, depression, ADHD, life transitions, trauma recovery, relationship challenges, and stress management. Sessions are offered in person in Lancaster, Ohio, and via secure telehealth throughout the state.
2. What can I expect at my first session?
The first session (intake) is 60 minutes and focuses on getting to know you—your goals, history, and what brought you to therapy. Together, we’ll discuss your hopes for counseling and develop a personalized plan for moving forward.
3. How long are sessions and how often will we meet?
Standard sessions are 53 minutes. Most clients begin meeting weekly or biweekly, but frequency can be adjusted based on your needs and progress.
4. What is your therapeutic approach?
My work is rooted in compassion and evidence-based practices such as CBT, DBT, Motivational Interviewing, Solution-Focused Therapy, and Polyvagal Theory. I strive to create a nonjudgmental, inclusive, and supportive environment where clients feel safe to grow and heal.
5. Do you offer virtual sessions?
Yes. Secure telehealth sessions are available to clients anywhere in Ohio. These can be accessed from your computer, tablet, or smartphone.
6. What are your session fees?
The current rate is $130 for intake sessions and $100 per follow-up session. A Good Faith Estimate is available upon request in compliance with the No Surprises Act.
7. Do you accept insurance?
Yes. I am credentialed with several major insurance panels, including Aetna, United Healthcare (market place and Medicaid)/Optum, Ambetter, Oscar, Cigna, Medical Mutual, Buckeye, and FrontPath. CareSource (Marketplace and Medicaid starting 12/2/25). Private pay options are also available.
8. How do I schedule an appointment?

9. What ages do you work with?
I primarily work with children (6+) and adults. Family sessions may include younger children when appropriate.
10. Is therapy confidential?
Yes. Your privacy is very important to me. All sessions and records are kept confidential in accordance with HIPAA and professional ethical standards. There are rare legal exceptions (e.g., risk of harm or abuse), which we will review in detail during intake.
11. What is your cancellation policy?
Cancellations must be made at least 24 hours in advance. Late cancellations or missed appointments may incur a fee.

There is convenient parking nearby. If you arrive early, you are welcome to wait in your car or at one of the local coffee shops nearby, as the office does not have a designated waiting area.
13. Do you provide supervision for other clinicians?
Yes. As an LISW-S, I offer free clinical supervision to dependent licensees in Ohio, as part of a commitment to professional development and community service. Please contact me for details.
14. What if I’m unsure about starting therapy?
That’s completely okay. Starting therapy is a big step. I encourage you to schedule a consultation or reach out with questions so we can discuss your goals and see if this feels like the right fit.
